In Loving Memory of Jinx
Our hearts are once again broken as we share that we had to say goodbye to another loved member of The Kas Pack. Our sassy girl Jinx has crossed the rainbow bridge, passing away at 16 years old.
Jinx came into our lives in 2010 when she was found at just three weeks old behind a grocery store in Windsor, Ontario. From the very beginning, she made it clear that she was going to do things entirely her way, and her independence and opinionated nature never changed.
She was a cat with a HUGE personality, packed with all the classic Tortoiseshell attitude (tortitude) —chatty, demanding, stubborn, and absolutely convinced the world revolved around her.
The truth is, to at least some degree, she wasn’t wrong.
She was a little troublemaker who never let anything stop her. She played with anything, explored wherever she wanted, and if she wanted attention, she made sure everyone knew.
Over the years, Jinx became our resident “semi-adventure cat.”
For most of her life, she wasn’t very interested in outdoor travel, far happier staying indoors in the air conditioning. But as she matured, she started showing interest in the outdoors more.
Throughout her senior years, she developed a love for relaxing camping trips where she could spend the day sunbathing and birdwatching at the campsite.
Lately, we noticed her arthritis getting particularly bad, and we began discussing making “that appointment” every pet parent dreads. But in typical Jinx style, she handled things on her own terms.
Her passing was no different than the rest of her life. One night, cuddled next to me in our bed, she gently slipped away.
While our hearts are heavy and the house feels a little quieter, we are unbelievably grateful for the 16 years we shared with her. Jinx lived a life filled with love, plenty of sunshine, and every opportunity to be unapologetically herself.
