2025 Holiday Gift Guide for Pets Who Love the Outdoors
The snow is falling, the temperatures of dropped, and the world is largely focusing on one thing: The holiday season!
That’s right, it’s that time of year again when pet parents like us are searching for that perfect gift to put under the tree for our furry travel buddies.
Luckily, there are many great options, including adventure-specific gear, products to keep your pet comfortable and entertained on a rainy date, tasty treats, and more. But with so much to choose from, where do you start?
The following list is a list of products that have really caught our eye throughout 2025.
These aren’t just hypotheticals or products we’ve seen others using on TikTok. Each item on this list has been tested and approved by our own pack, making them something we can stand behind with our whole hearts.

RC Pets District Parka
This is a brand that you have heard us mention time and time again. We are BIG RC Pets fans in this house, and for good reason. Their products are durable, high-quality, and support our adventures.
For 2025, we want to draw your attention to the RC Pets District Parka.
We enjoy our winter adventures, with both dogs loving being outside in the snow, but the snow doesn’t always love Lucifer.
Our little man gets cold easily, shivering and needing to call his winter hike or snowy playtime short so he can warm up. For that reason, cold-weather gear is a priority.
The RC Pets District Parka is a waterproof, insulated parka with an ultra-warm sherpa fleece lining.
For smaller pups (like Lucifer), who are closer to the ground, the coat features a T-fit design that provides extra protection along the chest. However, it should be noted that there is no chest panel on sizes 22-30, if that’s important to you.
The coat’s Velcro panels make it easy to put on, while a 2-way zipper on the back makes it easy to access your harness for on-leash adventures.
It also features reflective detailing, adding much-needed visibility at night.
We’ve been testing it so far this season and have been quite impressed with how warm it’s kept our crazy little man. It’s even secure enough for crazy Lucifer zoomies time!

Of course, if your pet doesn’t need quite as much warmth, or if you’re considering the Spring and Fall seasons, the Baseline Fleece is still a go-to here. Both Lucifer and now Theia sport their fleece sweaters when it’s not quite cool enough to break out a full coat.
WagAround Town Travel Mat
We were first introduced to these handy neoprene travel mats when I was sent home with one for Lucifer to try.
Funny enough, Lucifer never did get a chance to use it. Why, you may ask? The moment I first rolled this mat out, Willow has claimed it as her own!
The mats are water-resistant and easy to clean, whether you wipe them off at camp with a wet towel or toss them in the washing machine when you get home.
Attached elastic loops let you roll the mat up and secure it for travel. Alternatively, the material folds easily, fitting into any space.
This isn’t a padded bed, but it is the perfect cozy hang-out mat for around the campfire or when visiting pet-friendly spaces while you’re exploring new destinations, like restaurant and brewery patios.
There are several Service Dog and Service Dog in Training mat options.
You can even purchase a Reactive Dog-specific mat if you’re travelling with a reactive pup like our boy Lucifer, with the clear message “Stay Back, Do Not Approach” to help communicate your need for space.

Ruffwear Confluence Dog Life Jacket
We recently shared the Ruffwear Confluence Dog Life Jacket with all of you during our trip to Sharbot Lake Provincial Park, as well as in a dedicated gear review here on the blog.
This life jacket was generously sent to us from Ruffwear.
We had been struggling to find a life jacket that would fit Lucifer’s little blocky body without hindering his crazy, hyper self.
Other options were either too bulky, preventing him from running and jumping, or had a neck flap that folded up into his face because of his boxier chest.
The big difference with the Confluence Dog Life Jacket is that it’s a harness-style option.
It fits like a harness, with 6 points of adjustment to make it easy to customize to any body shape. The design lets our little man move without any restrictions, quickly earning his stamp of approval.
A handle on the back and a second hidden handle near the back make it easy to lift him back into the canoe or kayak if he decides to go for a swim.
We have used this on several trips now, and we’re super impressed!
It will be our go-to for Lucifer on our paddling adventures for the foreseeable future. We recommend it to anyone struggling to find the perfect fit for their pup’s life jacket.
KittyCatGo The Kylo Leash
This is a product we include in our gift guide every year, and for good reason.
While Biothane gear is a fairly common sight for outdoor-loving dogs, the hardware and thickness of the Biothane make it considerably too heavy for most adventure cats.
But that doesn’t mean you have to go without the ease of cleaning that only Biothane offers.
For those who aren’t familiar, it is a webbing material coated with TPU or PVC to make it durable, waterproof, and stink-proof. The result is a leather-like feel available in a wide assortment of colours.
KittyCatGo’s Kylo Leash has been a game-changer for us.

Charlee Bear Necessities Toppers
If you have been part of our community for any length of time, you already know that we’re HUGE fans of Charlee Bear dog treats.
In fact, they are Lucifer’s favourite treats, without question.

Kuma Outdoor Gear Lazy Bear Dog Chair
We originally featured the Kuma Outdoor Gear Lazy Bear Dog Chair alongside the Kuma Outdoor Gear Lazy Bear Heated Chair (my go-to camping chair).
When front-country camping, Willow will happily spend hours lounging in her chair, whether she’s napping or chewing a chew.
However, this year the brand made an exciting announcement that we couldn’t wait to share with our community.
If you have a smaller dog (or an adventure cat), we’re excited to share that they’ve launched the Kuma Outdoor Gear Little Lazy Bear Dog Chair, a smaller version of the original.
Both sizes featured the easy-to-clean mesh base, removable pillow, and sturdy construction.
The difference? The original chair is 32.5” x 24” x 25.5” and rated for up to 175 lbs, while the new, smaller version is 30” x 18” x 25” and rated for up to 125 lbs.
This means your smaller dog or cat won’t be swimming in their space, and the size is more manageable for you when packing your gear.

Travel Cat “The Navigator” Backpack
Following our participation in their Virtual Summit, Travel Cat gifted Theia with their well-known The Navigator backpack.
We’d seen it shared across the adventure cat community, and I even checked it out at one of the trade shows I attended, so we were excited to see what our cats would think.
We didn’t even leave the house for an adventure before learning Theia was in love.
This is Thiea’s go-to backpack for hiking, camping, visiting local pet-friendly patios, and more.
When we’re on the trails, this is a comfortable option for her to take a break from hiking (although she loves hiking alongside the dogs).
It features leash attachments for 2 cats, a 25 lb weight capacity, and a frame that keeps it from sagging even when your cat is perched on top, looking over your shoulders.
Mesh panels around the bag allow for unrestricted airflow, making it comfortable even on the hottest days.
The front panel can be rolled up for easy access or closed to keep your cat secure.
Pockets on both sides of the bag offer enough space to pack any gear you may need along the way, including poop bags, collapsible dishes, treats, and even your phone.
When we’re at the campsite, in the tent, or even at home in the cabin, Theia uses the bag as her bed and safe space.

SwiftPaws Extendable Flirt Pole
Do you have a high-energy dog like our little man, Lucifer?
If so, you may be on the search for ways to entertain them and burn that energy without disturbing your neighbouring campers. It’s a constant search for us!
One product that has been a game-changer on our travels has been the SwiftPaws Extendable Flirt Pole.
The compact 16” packed size is convenient for travel, extending to 48” when it’s time to play.
It comes with a soft, bone-shaped lure toy, or you can purchase the brand’s Critter Pack with three lure options that resemble a squirrel, a rabbit, and a skunk.
As you use the pole to move the lure around on the ground or in the air, it taps into your dog’s natural desire to hunt, chase, leap, and tug.
Lucifer will play for hours, catching it occasionally for a short game of tug before starting over again.
This is an excellent option for fun, interactive play with your dog.
LuftPets Squeaky Bone Snuffle Mat for Dogs
Speaking of positive outlets for your pet’s energy, what do you do when you’re stuck in the dining tent or trailer on a rainy day?
If you have a high-energy travel buddy, like Lucifer or Theia, this can get wild, FAST.
For this reason, we always bring a mental enrichment toy or puzzle to keep them busy in a confined space.
Recently, LuftPets sent us their Squeaky Bone Snuffle Mat, and it quickly became one of our favourites.
It’s a good size with plenty of hiding spots, including a removable lick mat where we like to add a little pumpkin puree both for fun and a digestive boost, and a non-slip bottom for slippery floors.
The material is so soft, Theia believes it’s another portable bed.
While the snuffle mat is marketed primarily for dogs, Theia has also tested and approved of it, searching alongside Lucifer for freeze-dried salmon.
For transport, it rolls up and is easily secured with the built-in strap and buckle.
When you get home, toss the whole mat (minus the lick mat) into the washing machine, and you’ll be ready for your next big adventure.

The Squeaky Bone Snuffle Mat is definitely a great option to keep around for a quiet, limited space activity.
Yeowww! Catnip Toys
Of course, when it comes to entertaining cats, there are few options as well-known and well-loved as catnip toys.
But not all cat toys are created equally, especially if you’re looking for a toy you can bring along to keep them busy while hanging out at the campsite.
We have loved on Yeowww! Catnip Toys in our house for years.
While we have owned almost every toy they have created at one time or another, each of our cats has made it clear they have their favourites.
- Pippen loves the small size of the Lady Krinkle Bug, a toy she can easily carry around.
- Jinx loves the Chi-CAT-a Banana, a kicker toy, which is her preferred style of play.
- Thiea loves the Mo Betta Fish, or as we call it, her “emotional support betta fish” that she snuggles and plays with all day.
They are high-quality toys that take a beating. Our trio has put theirs through some intense testing around the cabin and on the go.
Each toy is filled with organically grown catnip with a strong enough scent that you can smell it (unlike other toys that our cats won’t give a second look).
Give your cat a reason to play and have fun this season.
Inaba Churu Cat Treats
One of the biggest struggles most cat parents face, let alone adventure cat parents, is keeping their cat properly hydrated.
In the wild, cats get most of their hydration from the moisture in their food.
With the shift to kibble (this isn’t a kibble vs wet food debate; we feed a combination of the two), many cats simply aren’t getting the hydration they need.
One easy way to boost hydration, especially on the go, is to feed a high-moisture treat like Inaba Churu Cat Treats.
These lick treats are available in a wide range of flavours, including chicken, chicken with cheese, chicken with beef, tuna, tuna with shrimp, and salmon, among others.
They are a great option for training as you go through the harness-and-leash training process.
Plus, the tube-style packaging makes it easy to toss them into your cat backpack and bring them along on your adventures.
We have yet to find a flavour that our three cats don’t all love and go wild over.

WestPaw Boundr
Our final option on this list happens to be one of Lucifer’s all-time favourite toys.
Those who have been around The Kas Pack for any length of time likely know Lucifer has a fetch addiction.
His collection of tennis balls, squeak balls, rubber balls, etc., is truly impressive.
However, regardless of how many options he owns, there is one that he clearly chooses above all others: his blue WestPaw Boundr.
These balls are a great, safe alternative to traditional tennis balls.
Made from the brand’s durable Zogoflex material, they stand up to ongoing play and are easily cleaned by tossing them in the dishwasher.
The Boundr bounces, floats, and fits in most ball thrower toys.
If you’re concerned about tripping over a ball in the dark while moving around your campsite (genuine concern), they have a glow-in-the-dark option that we now keep packed with our camp gear.
For fetch-loving dogs, whether playing on land or in the lake, we can’t recommend these enough!

The holiday season is about loving and appreciating the special connections we have in our lives, including our furry travel companions.
